Corporate corner

Tatweer Misr eyes EGX debut in 2027 as Salt project financing takes shape

Tatweer Misr is targeting an EGX listing in 2027 after spending the past two years overhauling its corporate governance and broadening its funding base, CEO Ahmed Shalaby told EnterpriseAM. The developer expects to post a third consecutive profitable year in 2026 — meeting one of the exchange's key listing requirements — and is close to appointing an IPO adviser, though Shalaby declined to name the firm, he said in comments to Al Arabiya.

Funding the North Coast flagship

The listing preparations are running alongside a major financing effort. Tatweer is assembling the funding package for Salt, its EGP 70 billion mixed-use development on the North Coast, using a combination of internal cash flows, sales proceeds, and long-term bank financing, with advanced talks underway with several local lenders. A recently launched EGP 20 billion, five-year securitization program will also help fund the project.

A busy IPO pipeline ahead

Tatweer may be joining a crowded IPO calendar. Qalaa Holdings is preparing Dina Farms for a 2027 listing, while Ahram Security Group has also pushed its planned EGX debut to next year as it finalizes its adviser and offering structure. Meanwhile, B Investments is working toward an IPO for pharmacy chain El Ezaby, which Chairman Hazem Barakat has previously said could also make its market debut in 2027.
